My name is Margaux, I'm French; originally from the small mountains of Jura near Switzerland. I have been based on the Beara Peninsula here in West Cork for over ten years and in 2017, moved near Bantry.
Nine years ago I met my late partner, Ubi Evans, an incredible leather craftsman. Over several years, he taught me everything about the craft of leather work as well as most of his trade secrets. I'm fortunate to have had someone so talented teaching me this ancient art.
Absolutely everything is made by hand by me in my workshop. The only machine you will see is a radio! Eventually I may buy a stitching machine to help me finish smaller items like wallets and purses.
I make a variety of leather items including belts, handbags, wallets, purses, wristbands and also few smaller items of jewellery. To see the full range of my work please look at my website or visit the markets of Bantry, Skibbereen, and Schull where you will find me from March to October.
