mike nash - stained glass
Having left Ireland in the '70's and qualified as, initially, an Aircraft Engineer and latterly an Intensive Care Nurse, Mike finally came home in 2009 and settled with his wife and youngest son in their pre-Famine farmhouse in West Cork.
Mike has nurtured a life long interest in stained glass and whereas this necessarily took a back seat during what was a busy professional career, he now has time to devote to new designs and to further develop his art.
Mike's pieces utilise cathedral and opalescent glass to produce a variety of designs employing the "Tiffany" method (soldered copper foil). He draws his inspiration from the wonderful West Cork sea and landscapes and themes include marine and local flora elements and geometric and tesselated patterns.
