Originally from London, but now living in West Cork since 2013, I can often be found on the beach at Owenahincha with our four dogs. I love standing on the dunes and breathing in the fresh air straight off the Atlantic and my favourite time is low tide, because as it recedes, the sea deposits pebbles in bands, roughly according to weight and size.
I carefully collect some of these pebbles, along with pieces of driftwood, to make various sized framed pictures, as well as mobiles, simple jewellery and other bits and pieces. For me, the beach is a tremendous resource, always changing, and delivering many things that can be turned into something that other people enjoy .
