I trained in ceramics in Carmarthernshire, Wales with Yoka Kilkelly from Siramik Pottery. On relocating to beautiful West Cork, I was able to set up my own studio, Cnoc Pottery.
I am lucky to live with my family on a smallholding surrounded by stunning. mountains. I enjoy a self-sufficient lifestyle along with a menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, rheas and even emus! There is inspiration to be found everywhere - the fantastic countryside, wildlife and plants of West Cork all around me and in particular the stunning coastline. Simply looking out of my window or going for a walk can give me an idea for a new piece.
Creating ceramics is a meaningful, detailed process. Each stage defines and shapes the piece. From initial sketches, feeling the clay on the wheel, throwing, trimming, hand painting, glazing and firing; each piece has a personal touch. Each piece is special and unique.
