My name is Peter Collins and I’m a woodturner based on the Cork-Kerry border in the Lee Valley. I started woodturning in 1983 and will keep learning and discovering for the rest of my life.
I use logs mostly from my locality which are the result of storms or developments like roads. I convert and season the logs myself. I am constantly surprised by the beauty hidden within them.
I create functional and decorative pieces using clean lines that show off the figure of the wood and all its perfect imperfections.
